The Lao Premier League (Lao: ລາວ ພຣີເມຍລີກ) is a football league representing the sport's highest level in Laos. The league is composed of 8 clubs following a reduction from 14 clubs (in 2016) for the 2017 season.
Over the course of a season, which runs annually, each team plays twice against the others in the league, once at 'home' and once 'away'. Three points are awarded for a win, one for a draw and zero for a loss. The teams are ranked in the league table by points gained, then goal difference, then goals scored and then their head-to-head record for that season.
Note 1: unclear whether league championship.
