Liz Mair

Liz Mair is a political and communications consultant, and is the founder and president of Mair Strategies LLC. She lives in the Washington, D.C., area and is a dual US-UK national.

She has served as online communication strategist, most notably as Online Communications Director at the Republican National Committee in 2008. Mair has worked for US politicians including Rand Paul, Scott Walker, Rick Perry and Carly Fiorina. In 2015, one day after being announced as an aide to Wisconsin governor Walker, she resigned after posting controversial Twitter messages referring to "morons across America" (on Iowa's ethanol subsidies) and to removing "Iowa's frontrunning status" in the U.S. election cycle.

In December 2015, she helped create the Make American Awesome Super PAC, "as a vehicle to attack Donald Trump." On July 14, 2016, Mair tweeted her intention to vote for Libertarian Party presidential nominee Gary Johnson in the November general election. Almost two weeks later, on August 4, while discussing the newly formed Republicans for Johnson-Weld, she called Trump a "loudmouthed dick" in an interview with CNN anchor Anderson Cooper and tweeted about it afterwards, to widespread approval from other users of the social media platform.

She has appeared as a commentator on television, including MSNBC, CNN and Real Time with Bill Maher.

Mair has an M.A. in International Relations from the University of St. Andrews in the United Kingdom and holds a certificate in Political and Social Sciences from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris.
