Lona (mythology)

In Hawaiian mythology, Lona is a female lunar deity who fell in love with and married a mortal, ʻAikanaka. They lived happily together until ʻAikanaka died of old age.

It is likely that Lona is just another name for the Moon goddess Hina.

A Hawaiian god with the similar name is Lono.
