Maine School Administrative District 1
Maine School Administrative District 1 (MSAD 1) is an operating school district within Maine, covering the towns of Castle Hill, Chapman, Mapleton, Presque Isle and Westfield.
The district is headquartered in Presque Isle. The elementary schools are Pine Street and Zippel in Presque Isle and Mapleton in Mapleton. Presque Isle Middle School is the district middle school and Presque Isle High School is the district high school.
Mapleton Elementary School is located in Mapleton, ME. Mapleton Elementary serves grades Preschool-5.
Pine Street School serves grades Preschool-Second Grade. In grade 2, students are prepared for the transition to the Zipple School.
Zipple Elementary serves grades 3-5. Zipple prepares students in fifth grade for the transition to the Middle School.
Presque Isle Middle School, more commonly known as PIMS, serves grades 6-8. It was formerly known as Skyway Middle School, right before Cunningham Middle School closed in 2005. PIMS had gone under a massive renovation, lasting from 2004-2005. PIMS is equipped with a large auditorium, capable of seating all grades.
Presque Isle High School, better known as PIHS, has been open since the 1940's and has undergone substantial renovations since. PIHS serves grades 9-12.
