Mallory is a census-designated place (CDP) in Logan County, West Virginia, United States. The population was 1,654 at the 2010 census.
The community was named after the local Mallory Coal Company.
Mallory is located at 37°43′49″N 81°50′9″W / 37.73028°N 81.83583°W (37.730315, -81.835857), along Huff Creek and West Virginia Route 10.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 13.0 square miles (33.8 km²); 13.0 square miles (33.6 km²) of this is land, and 0.05 square miles (0.1 km²) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,143 people, 437 households, and 343 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 99.2 people per square mile (38.3/km²). There were 491 housing units at an average density of 42.6/sq mi (16.4/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 96.94% White, 2.27% African American, 0.09% Asian, and 0.70% from two or more races.
There were 437 households out of which 30.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.1% were married couples living together, 14.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.5% were non-families. 19.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.62 and the average family size was 2.97.
