Maschinenstil is an album by the Japanese noise musician Merzbow.
The title of "Stormy Monday" was taken from the first track of Lee Michaels' self-titled album, due to the organ sound of the track. The drum loop was sampled from Terry Bozzio's drum solo on "Hands with a Hammer" from Frank Zappa's You Can't Do That on Stage Anymore, Vol. 3. The same loop is also used on "Bozzio" on the Last of Analog Sessions box set. "Shin Kawasaki" was inspired by the industrial landscape of Shin-Kawasaki, as seen from the Yokosuka Line. The use of the Roland TR-606 drum machine and Bias EXD drum synth give the track an early 1980s techno pop sound.
All music composed by Masami Akita.
