At the 2016 French Open, Georges made her WTA Tour singles main draw debut after obtaining a wildcard. She had been eliminated in the singles 1st or 2nd qualifying rounds of the French Open for four consecutive years, from 2012 (the year she made her French Open senior debut) to 2015. In the 1st round, she defeated world No.67 Christina McHale 6-7(7-9),6-0,6-3 to register her first win over a player in the top 100 of the WTA singles rankings. In the 2nd round, she lost to the number 4 seed Garbiñe Muguruza 6-2,6-0 in 53 minutes.
