Nagaina is a spider genus of the Salticidae family (jumping spiders).
The genus name is derived from Nagaina, a female black cobra animal-character from Rudyard Kipling's story Rikki-Tikki-Tavi. Other salticid genera with names of Kipling's characters are Bagheera, Messua and Akela.
