Napoleon is an unincorporated community in Napoleon Township of Jackson County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is also a Census-designated place (CDP) for statistical purposes and without any legal status as an incorporated municipality. The population of the CDP was 1,254 at the 2000 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 2.7 square miles (7.0 km2), all land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,254 people, 473 households, and 340 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 472.5 per square mile (182.7/km²). There were 498 housing units at an average density of 187.7 per square mile (72.6/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 96.89% White, 0.24% Black or African American, 0.24% Native American, 0.08% Asian, 1.12% from other races, and 1.44% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.15% of the population.
There were 473 households out of which 37.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.3% were married couples living together, 13.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.1% were non-families. 24.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
