The second series of Ninja Warrior UK which ITV renewed for a second series on On 29 May 2015, and began on 2 January 2016. The show was presented by Ben Shephard, Chris Kamara and Rochelle Humes. Owen "The Stuff" McKenzie was the contestant to go the furthest in the second series. As with series 1, no women advanced past the semi-finals.
A total of 250 contestants begin the qualifying round of the competition, and attempt complete six obstacles and hit the buzzer at the end of the course. The 10 contestants, from each of the 5 qualifying rounds, who make it the furthest the fastest, qualify for the semi-finals, where there are nine obstacles. The top 15 contestants qualify for the final, which is split into three parts. The first part features nine obstacles and is timed; the second part features five obstacles with a strict time limit, and then three untimed obstacles. Lastly, contestants must climb "Mount Midoriyama" with a 70 feet (21 m) rope.
The semi-final course is divided into two stages. After climbing the warped wall, contestants would hit the buzzer, and would then immediately continue onto stage two. After all 50 competitors attempted the course, the top 15 would advance to the finals, ranked by finish taking the combined time for both stages into account.
Stage 1 (To be completed within 2 minutes)
Stage 2
Stage 1 contained 9 obstacles and had to be completed within 2 minutes. Only three people successfully completed stage 1: Timothy Shieff, Toby Segar and Owen McKenzie.
Only the three contestants who completed stage 1 were able to move on to stage 2. All obstacles must be completed within 75 seconds. Although all three contestants were eliminated on the salmon ladder, Owen McKenzie was awarded "Last Man Standing" as he made it to the fourth rung, faster than Timoth Shieff, and Toby Segar was eliminated attempting to reach the third rung.
