Opisthosporidia is the sister clade to the true fungi in which the Aphelida emerged as a basal clade. Also the Cryptomycota and the Microsporidia emerged in the Opisthosporida. The obsolete view was that true fungi emerged as sister clade of the Cryptomycota.
