The Panika are a dravidian Hindu community found in the states of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha, Andhra Pradesh in India. They are also known as Panka/Panikar.
In Madhya Pradesh, Koshta and Panika castes are categorised as Scheduled castes in some districts and as OBC in others. It has been officially proposed that the Panika be recognised as a Scheduled tribe of Chhattisgarh and the proposal is under process by the central government.
