Paul Budnitz (born September 14, 1967) is an American entrepreneur. He is the founder of Kidrobot, a retailer of art toys, apparel and accessories, and Ello, an ad-free social network. He also owns Budnitz Bicycles in Burlington, Vermont.
Paul Budnitz grew up in Berkeley, California in a Jewish family with a nuclear physicist father and a social worker mother. He graduated from Berkeley High School and eventually transferred to Yale University in Connecticut.
In 1990, Budnitz began working on two films, 93 Million Miles from the Sun and the 13-minute-longUltraviolet. Both won awards at the Berlin International Film Festival and were distributed worldwide. Artforum magazine hailed 93 Million Miles as "one of the best films of 1997."
Budnitz is the founder of Kidrobot, Ello and Budnitz Bicycles.
Budnitz has ties to Boulder, Colorado; New York City; Montana; and Shelburne, Vermont. He is married to Sabine "Sa Budnitz" and lives in Vermont and New York City.
