Lowell "Bud" Greives
Independent
The Peoria mayoral election of 2001 took place on April 3 of that year. Incumbent Mayor Lowell "Bud" Greives did not seek re-election. The election was won by David P. Ransburg.
Elections in Peoria are not two-round. The first is a primary, and even if a candidate wins a majority of the votes, there is still a consolidated election between the two highest vote-getters.
The primary election was held on February 27, 2001.
