Pontevedra is one of the four constituencies (Galician: circunscricións, Spanish: circunscripciones) represented in the Parliament of Galicia—the regional legislature of the Spanish autonomous community of Galicia—.
Voting is on the basis of universal suffrage in a secret ballot. Only lists polling above 5% (3% until 1989) of valid votes in each district (which includes blank ballots—for none of the above) are entitled to enter the seat distribution.
