Portsmouth Football Club i/ˈpɔərtsməθ/ is a professional football club in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England, which will play in League One, the third tier of English football, following their promotion from League Two in the 2016–17 season. Home matches have been played at Fratton Park since the club's formation in 1898. Portsmouth have been champions of England twice, in 1949 and 1950, and won the FA Cup twice, in 1939 and 2008.
After winning the League Two title on the final game of the 2016–17 season, Portsmouth became the 5th club to win all four top tiers of professional English football (after Wolves, Burnley, Preston and Sheffield United).
