He marked his Bollywood debut as Director–Writer with the Hindi film, Chal Pichchur Banate Hain.
Pritish Chakraborty was born in a Bengali Brahmin family in Kolkata and brought up partly in Kolkata and partly in Mumbai.
Just like most culturally rich Bengali households, Pritish was trained by his parents in the various fields of Arts and Sciences in his school and college days including IT, Photography, Painting, Music, Dance, Writing, Direction and Acting.
Pritish's first visit to Bombay was during his school vacation days in 1996, when he fell in love with the city and eventually due to his insistence his family shifted from Kolkata to Mumbai in 2001.
He was an ace performer in sports and studies, but in the three months of holiday post his 10th Standard exams Pritish got hooked to films as he watched almost a new movie every day, sometimes multiple movies in 1 day. He was 16 years old when he was exposed to masterpieces of Akira Kurosawa, Federico Fellini, Stanley Kubrick, Billy Wilder, Satyajit Ray, Woody Allen, Alfred Hitchcock, Francis Ford Coppola, Jean Luc Godard, Jean Renoir, Guru Dutt, Steven Spielberg and the like. The films stayed with him and his only dream as a 16-year-old was to be in films.
A complete movie buff from his childhood, creativity and entrepreneurship were always the hallmarks in his work and career. Pritish started his first business and founded his first company when he was only 18 years old. During his college years, Pritish used to multitask in between his business, movies and studies.
