The Puigdemont Government was formed after the election of Carles Puigdemont as President of the Generalitat of Catalonia on 10 January 2016, following the 2015 regional election. It was the 11th legislature and succeeded the second Mas Government.
Puigdemont's cabinet made up the government of Catalonia from 12 January 2016 to 28 October 2017, a total of 655 days, or 1 year, 9 months and 16 days. Between 28 and 30 October 2017 the government was in dispute between Spain and the self-proclaimed Catalan Republic. It was composed mainly by members of Democratic Convergence of Catalonia (which was dissolved on 8 July 2016, replaced by the Catalan European Democratic Party on 10 July 2016), Republican Left of Catalonia, and some independents, all integrated inside the electoral coalition Junts pel Sí.
The Executive Council was structured into 13 conselleries—not including the post of the President—as well as one Vice President office.
