The Riemschneider thiocarbamate synthesis produces aromatic thiocarbamates starting with the corresponding aromatic thiocyanate.
The thiocyanate is treated with sulfuric acid and then hydrolyzed with ice water.
The reaction was discovered by the German chemist Randolph Riemschneider.
