The SGB Premiership 2018 is an upcoming season in the top division of Great British Speedway. The season will run between March and October 2018 and will have 8 times participating. The line-up of teams remains the same as in 2017. The Swindon Robins are the defending champions after winning the title in 2017.
At the annual Speedway AGM, which was held in the middle of November 2017, there were a number of changes made to the rules and regulations for 2018. The biggest change was the introduction of fixed race nights, from now on all Premiership meetings will be held on either a Monday or Wednesday, with Swindon Robins receiving special dispensation to continue to host home meetings on a Thursday. It is hoped that this will result in more of the world’s top riders returning to UK racing. This will also eliminate the possibility of doubling up riders (riders riding in both of the top 2 divisions in British Speedway) being scheduled to ride for 2 clubs on the same night.
As of 9 February 2018.
Teams face each other four times: twice home and away. The first of the home and away meetings are called the 'A' fixtures, and the second are the 'B' fixtures.
