SVKM's NMIMS (formerly Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies) is a Deemed-to-be University under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. Established in 1981 by Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal, NMIMS was granted deemed university status by the UGC in 2003.
After being awarded deemed university status in 2003, NMIMS has expanded to six campuses across the country. Courses and programs offered by the institute include management, technology, science, architecture, pharmacy, commerce, economics, law, engineering and liberal arts.
Mumbai campus has eleven schools under its umbrella offering undergraduate, postgraduate, integrated and doctoral programs. Mumbai Campus was accredited by NAAC with 3.59 CGPA (on 4 point scale) and Grade A+.
NMIMS was ranked 34th among management schools in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework in 2017, 14th by Business Today's "India's best B-schools 2016" and eighth in India by Outlook India's "Top 100 Management Schools" of 2016.
