The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9+ (shortened to S9 and S9+, respectively) are Android smartphones produced by Samsung Electronics as part of the Samsung Galaxy S series. The devices were revealed at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on 25 February 2018, as the successors to the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+.
Many Galaxy S9 features and design changes were leaked weeks before the official launch, and the official launch video was leaked a few hours prior to the unveiling.
Many leaks erroneously said the S9 and S9+ would be more expensive than their predecessors, however in the United States, the unlocked S9 costs $719.99 and the unlocked S9+ costs $839.99, less than the S8.
In India, the S9 costs ₹57,900 and S9+ costs ₹64,900.
In Kenya, the price for the S9 is KSh85,000 and KSh94,000 for the S9+.
The Galaxy S9 and S9+ both feature 1440p Super AMOLED displays, with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio, identical to the S8/S8+. The S9 has a 5.8-inch panel, while the S9+ uses a larger 6.2-inch panel.
In all countries (except the United States, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Japan and Latin America), the S9 and S9+ both come with a Samsung Exynos 9810 SoC. The United States, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Japan and Latin America versions instead come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC.
