RED BLUE GREEN
Sarvodaya Vidyalaya is a school of the Major Archiepiscopal Eparchy of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church. Situated on the lush green Bethany Hills at Nalanchira, Sarvodaya was founded on 3 January 1973 by His Grace the Most Rev. Benedict Mar Gregorios, the late Metropolitan Archbishop of Trivandrum. The Archbishop conceived education as a process ensuring the blending of the salient features of idealism and pragmatism in relation to the environment. His conviction that education is the investment in Human Resource Development prompted him to establish the school.
The school is one of the few schools in the district which provides ISC and ICSE sylabbi, the most advanced course in the country. The school boasts a population of 4500 students and over 120 teachers. Sarvodaya Vidyalaya is also the first and only School in India to provide Phonetics and English Accent training for students from Grade 1 to Grade 7 even though their curriculum doesn't require them to do so. Special faculty members were recruited from England, Scotland, USA, Canada and South Africa since 1983 for these scheduled trainings and students were required to attend those sessions outside of schooling hours or during weekends. The management stopped this practice in 2000.
Motto of the School: ‘Let there be light.’
The school is owned and managed by the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum. One of the primary apostolates of the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum concerns its service in the field of education. For the last 75 years, the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum has been rendering excellent service to the society by providing quality education to thousands of students across the nation. Its goal in its educational undertakings has always been something more than the ordinary and the mediocre. Through its educational institutions, the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum is guided by principles and the universal values of the Gospels.
Patron Manager: His Eminence Baselios Cardinal Cleemis, Major Archbishop of Trivandrum is the patron of the School.
Fr. George Mathew Karoor is the Principal of the school since September 2011 and Fr. Antony Raj is the Administrator Cardinal Cleemis School of Management Studies and Bursar (Cum Local Manager) of Sarvodaya Vidyalaya and Sarvodaya Central Vidyalaya Schools at Mar Ivanios Vidya Nagar, Nalanchira, Trivandrum.
The ICSE course, the most advanced one now available in India, is modelled and organised on the lines of the Senior Cambridge Course of England. The syllabi are prepared, books prescribed and examinations conducted accordingly to achieve academic excellence. There are about 100 recognised ICSE/ISC schools in the whole country.
