Shantel S. Krebs (born April 28, 1973) is a Republican South Dakota Secretary of State and a former member of the South Dakota House of Representatives.
Krebs was sworn in as South Dakota Secretary of State on January 2, 2015. Prior to her election to the office of Secretary of State, Krebs represented the 10th District of the South Dakota Legislature from 2005 to 2014, serving in the House of Representatives from 2005-2011, and in the Senate from 2011-2015. Krebs was elected by her peers to Majority Whip posts in both chambers and chaired the Transportation Committee in the House and the Agriculture & Natural Resources committee in the Senate. Her district included Lincoln and Minnehaha counties.
Krebs resides on a ranch near Fort Pierre. In 1997 she was crowned Miss South Dakota.
Krebs plays the alto saxophone and was a member of the 1991 South Dakota All-State Band.
On March 14, 2017 she announced her candidacy for South Dakota's at-large seat in the United States House of Representatives in 2018. She will face for PUC Commissioner and Dennis Daugaard's Chief of Staff Dusty Johnson
