Shotaro Moriyasu (January 5, 1924, Tokyo - September 25, 1955, Tokyo) was a Japanese jazz pianist.
Moriyasu was self-taught on piano, though his parents were musically inclined. He began playing jazz in nightclubs shortly after the conclusion of World War II, and learned to play bebop from musicians on US military installations. He worked in the bands of Shungo Sawada and Nobuo Hara, also arranging for Hara's ensemble, Sharps and Flats.
In 1955, Moriyasu killed himself at the age of 31 by jumping into the path of a moving train.
