The Sommerkahl is a left tributary of the Kahl in the northern Spessart in Lower Franconia, Bavaria, Germany. It is 5 km (3,1 mi) long. From the headwaters to the entrance of Sommerkahl the stream is called Speckkahl ("Bacon kahl"). This name comes from a time, when people wore their ham and bacon, along the creek from Sommerkahl to Jakobstal, to action. The Speckkahl rises in the nature reserve "Amphibienfreistätte Speckkahl". Near Langenborn it empties in the Kahl.

The Sommerkahl is with Westerbach, Reichenbach and Geiselbach one of the largest tributaries of the Kahl.
