Steven Russell Moses (born December 10, 1992) is an audio engineer and sound designer. He is best known for winning the seventeenth edition of the American reality television series Big Brother. Moses is currently a MFA graduate assistant in Sound Design at the University of Cincinnati – College-Conservatory of Music.
Moses was born in New Hartford, New York and grew up in Gouverneur, New York. He studied mechanical engineering at Cornell University for two years before transferring to Fredonia State College to pursue a degree in audio engineering and music. He was enrolled at Fredonia during his appearance on Big Brother.
Steve entered the house on the second episode, hoping to convince his fellow houseguests that he was the "sweet, naive, and innocent little kid who could never possibly be a threat to your game and would be a complete waste of your HoH." He was an early target and nominated for eviction the first two weeks, forcing him to win early competitions for safety.
He attempted to alleviate his target by joining three alliances: "The Rockstars" with John McGuire, "Students of Sound" with Vanessa Rousso, and the "Freaks & Geeks" / "Scamper Squad" with Vanessa, Austin Matelson, Liz Nolan, and Julia Nolan. He hid his true loyalties from other houseguests via a prolonged fake feud with Austin. These alliances gave him several weeks of safety where he threw many competitions.
