Strom Thurmond High School is located in Johnston, South Carolina, a town in Edgefield County. It is named for Strom Thurmond who served as Governor of South Carolina (1947–1951), and eight-term senator from South Carolina (December 1954 – April 1956 and November 1956 – January 2003)
Home to one of South Carolina's longest and award-winning Mock Trial Programs. The Strom Thurmond Mock Trial Team has won five State SC State Championships, 6 State Runners-up titles, and over 30 Region Championships. Latest Accolades for the program are:
