The Tainan City Government (Chinese: 臺南市政府; pinyin: Táinán Shì Zhèngfǔ) is the top-tier local government administrative body of the Republic of China from December 2010 that governs Tainan City. It consists of a directly elected executive Mayor of Tainan. It replaced the earlier Tainan County Government and Tainan City Government which had covered a much bigger area and governed more citizens.
The mayor of Tainan City is the chief executive officer of the city. He/she is elected for a four-year term and limited to serving no more than two terms. Under the mayor there are 2 deputy mayors, 1 secretary-general, 1 deputy secretary-general and 27 principal officers.
