Taiwan-Japan Relations Association, formerly Association of East Asian Relations is a non-governmental agency of the Republic of China (now usually called "Taiwan") to handle the matters concerning the interests of the Republic of China and Japan. It was established after the government of the Republic of China and Japan severed their diplomatic relations in 1972. Its Japanese counterpart is Japan–Taiwan Exchange Association. It has liaison offices in Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka and branches of the Tokyo Office in Yokohama, Naha and Sapporo. The agency formally changed its name to the current name on March 20, 2017.
In 1992, the name of Association of East Asian Relations Tokyo Office (亞東關係協會東京辦事處) was changed to Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in Japan.
