"Take Me Away" was the second single released in Canada from Fefe Dobson's self-titled debut album and the first to be released internationally.
There is a version "For Promotional Use Only" sometimes referred to as a DJ single, with just the song and a brief "CALL OUT HOOK." It has a slight variation to the cover art and the title is rather plainly displayed in the upper right corner. The promo version art is often displayed incorrectly when the 2-track single is actually the one being offered for sale at websites like eBay.
The B-side, "Bye Bye Boyfriend", is also released in a Canadian single version.
There is an official music video for the song. It shows her performing the song in a concert style. There is also an official 'making of' video.
