The Piper (Hangul: 손님; RR: Sonnim; lit. The Guest) is a 2015 South Korean period mystery film inspired by the Pied Piper of Hamelin legend. It is written and directed by Kim Gwang-tae, in his directorial debut.
Set in the 1950s after the Korean War, wandering musician Woo-ryong and his young son come across a mountain village so remote it doesn't even appear on the map. Woo-ryong volunteers to exterminate the town's rat population in exchange for medical treatment for his sickly son.
