The Smoakstack Sessions Vol. 2 is the third extended play (EP) by American pop rock recording artist Kelly Clarkson. It was released by RCA Records as a companion record with her first greatest hits album, Greatest Hits – Chapter One, on November 19, 2012. Like her debut EP, The Smoakstack Sessions,The Smoakstack Sessions Vol. 2 was recorded at The Smoakstack recording studios in Nashville, Tennessee.
The EP consists of six covers: "I Never Loved a Man", originally by Aretha Franklin (which Clarkson recorded with Questlove), "Your Cheatin' Heart", originally by Hank Williams, "Walking After Midnight", originally by Patsy Cline, a mash-up of "That I Would Be Good", originally by Alanis Morissette, with "Use Somebody", originally by Kings of Leon, and "Lies", originally by The Black Keys — all of which she had previously performed in her All I Ever Wanted Tour in 2009-10.
