The Top Model of the World is an international search for the ultimate model. The event started in 1993 in Miami, organised by the Globana Group. It is now owned and managed by the World Beauty Organization.
The current Top Model of the World for 2016 is Margo Cooper from Bularia.
In 1995 the competition was held outside the USA for the first time. The host was Russia. In 2005, it was held for the very first time in Asia, in China. In a spectacular open air show the final of the 2005 event took place in the Humen Park with over 10,000 spectators and the winner was Dominika van Santen from Margarita Island, Venezuela. The event was broadcast live with over 360 million viewers worldwide. In 2006, it was held in Kunming, China. There, Dominika van Santen crowned her successor, Natália Guimarães from Brazil.
The 17th Top Model Of The World Pageant was held in the Hohensyburg Casino in Dortmund, Germany from 10–21 February 2010. Forty three contestants competed in the event in which Carolina Rodriguez who represented Colombia walked away with the first Top Model of the World title for her country.
The 18th Top Model Of The World Pageant was held in Usedom Island, Germany in March 16, 2011. 44 contestants competed in the event in which Loredana Violeta Salanța who represented Romania walked away with the first Top Model of the World title for her country.
