Vermillion is a city in Marshall County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 112.

Vermillion was founded in 1869 by the railroad company. It was named from the Black Vermillion River.

The first post office in Vermillion was established in May 1870.

Vermillion is located at 39°43′8″N 96°15′55″W / 39.71889°N 96.26528°W / 39.71889; -96.26528 (39.718860, -96.265214). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.25 square miles (0.65 km2), of which, 0.24 square miles (0.62 km2) is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 km2) is water.

As of the census of 2010, there were 112 people, 54 households, and 28 families residing in the city. The population density was 466.7 inhabitants per square mile (180.2/km2). There were 74 housing units at an average density of 308.3 per square mile (119.0/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 94.6% White, 1.8% Native American, and 3.6% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5.4% of the population.

There were 54 households of which 14.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.4% were married couples living together, 3.7% had a female householder with no husband present, 3.7% had a male householder with no wife present, and 48.1% were non-families. 35.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 13% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.07 and the average family size was 2.64.
