Vimpeli (Swedish: Vindala) is a municipality of Finland.
It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Southern Ostrobothnia region. The municipality has a population of 3,074 (31 March 2016) and covers an area of 287.33 square kilometres (110.94 sq mi) of which 41.52 km2 (16.03 sq mi) is water. The population density is 10.7 inhabitants per square kilometre (28/sq mi).
Vimpeli was crucial in the Winter War due to its ski-factory that created over half of the skis used in the war.
The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
Hallapuro, Huopana, Kirkonkylä, Koskela, Lakaniemi, Pokela, Pyhälahti, Rantakylä, Sääksjärvi, Viitaniemi and Vinni.
