Wendover, also known as Frontier Nursing Service or Big House, near Hyden, Kentucky, is a central location of an American attempt to professionalize midwifery, led by Mary Breckinridge. The Frontier Nursing Service continues today. Wendover has been named a U.S. National Historic Landmark.
It is a two-and-a-half-story log building on a south-facing hillside, overlooking the Middle Fork of the Kentucky River, on a small road off of County Highway 421, south of the small town of Hyden, Kentucky.
