West Hill is a city suburb in the Kozhikode district in Kerala, India. West Hill area has the government guest house, a government engineering college and the polytechnic. There is a helipad in West Hill and the road to the beach is called Bhatt Road. The road to the north takes you to Puthiyangadi, Pavangad, Elathur and Koyilandy.
Nadakkavu is a commercial and residential suburbof Kozhikode city. It is about five kilometres from the city centre. Areas like Chakkorath Kulam, Vandipettah, Bilathikkulam and Kanakalaya are part of Nadakkavu.
Kunduparamba is a suburb of Kozhikode city. The broadcasting centre of All India Radio is situated here. Kunduparamba is accessible via the National Highway 17 by taking a right turn from Puthiyangadi junction. The villages of Edakkad, Nellippalam and Vaidyar Angadi come near Kunduparamba. The road to the north from Kunduparamba goes to Pavangad and the road south takes you back to the city on a short cut.
Nochipra Bhagavathy-Kshetram, one of the oldest temples (about 900+ years) in West Hill, Kozhikode brings devotees from near, far and from all walks of life. This kudumba kshetram belonging to the Nochipra Family (a.k.a. Nellipunath Family), has many stories and real incidents through its generations.
Varakkal Devi Temple is one of the important Devi temples in Kozhikode, It is considered to be the 108th and the last Devi temple built by Parasurama. It is believed that Parasurama ploughed this area in order to Devi (goddess) to appear. The main festival of this temple is Vavu Bali performed in the malayalm month of Thulam(full moon day). Navaratri festival is also celebrated with great fanfare.
West Hill is situated five kilometres north of Kozhikode corporation. NH - 17 passes through West Hill.Beach Road and SH-54 Kozhikode Mini Bypass Road are the major road links to West Hill. The other important roads in and around West Hill are Butt Road connecting Beach, Pupils road connecting Karaparamba, Exhibition Road connecting Beach, Easthill Road connecting East Hill and Nadakave, Varakkal Road, SNDP Asharam Road, Kunduparamba Road.
West Hill railway station (Code WHL) is located in the western side of the high way (NH 17).It is under Plakkad Division of Southern railway of Indian Railways. The station is opened in the year 1904.It has two platforms with double electrified broad gauge lines, only 8 passenger trains halt in the station.
