West River is an unincorporated community in Washakie County, Wyoming, United States. The population was 321 at the 2000 census, when it was a census-designated place (CDP).

West River is located at 44°5′49″N 107°58′50″W / 44.09694°N 107.98056°W / 44.09694; -107.98056 (44.096812, -107.980449).

According to the United States Census Bureau, in 2000 the CDP has a total area of 57.5 square miles (149.1 km²), of which, 57.2 square miles (148.3 km²) of it is land and 0.3 square miles (0.8 km²) of it (0.54%) is water.

As of the census of 2000, there were 321 people, 113 households, and 96 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 5.6 people per square mile (2.2/km²). There were 116 housing units at an average density of 2.0/sq mi (0.8/km²).
