The Zimmer's tapaculo (Scytalopus zimmeri) is a species of passerine bird in the family Rhinocryptidae. It is found in the mountains Bolivia and northern Argentina.
Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, subtropical or tropical high-altitude shrubland, and rocky areas.
Its name commemorates American ornithologist John Todd Zimmer.
It is terrestrial and prefers to run rather than fly.
