The 1962–63 Iraq FA Cup Championship was the 8th season of what is now known as the League of the Institutes (the top division of Iraqi football from 1948 to 1974), and it was open to teams from Baghdad. Madrasa Al-Shorta won their first league title, which was also the first title in the history of the Police clubs that were merged to form Al-Shorta in 1974.
