The 1963–64 Iraq FA League Championship was the 9th season of what is now known as the League of the Institutes (the top division of Iraqi football from 1948 to 1974), and the first under the name of League Championship; it was open to teams from Baghdad. Prior to the season, Aliyat Al-Shorta won promotion by beating Al-Omma 2–0 on 29 June 1963; they would eventually finish third in their maiden season in the top-flight. The winners of the league were Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, who won their third title.
