Kentucky Route 342 (KY 342) is a 4.623-mile-long (7.440 km) state highway in the U.S. state of Kentucky. The highway connects mostly rural areas of Mercer County with Burgin.
KY 342 begins at an intersection with KY 33 (Pleasant Hill Drive) in the northeastern part of Burgin, within Mercer County. It travels to the northeast and leaves the city. It curves to the north-northeast and travels under a railroad bridge that carries railroad tracks of Norfolk Southern Railway. It then travels on a bridge over those railroad tracks. It crosses over those railroad tracks a third time. It curves to the west-northwest and travels under another railroad bridge, that carries those railroad tracks, for its fourth crossing of the railroad. The highway crosses over Cedar Branch and then meets its northern terminus, a second intersection with KY 33 (Shakertown Road).
The entire route is in Mercer County.
