Roads in the Philippines
Andaya Highway (also known as Quirino Highway, and Camarines Sur–Quezon Road) is a regional highway located at the towns of Sipocot, Lupi, Ragay, Del Gallego in the province of Camarines Sur, and the town of Tagkawayan in the province of Quezon. The entire highway is designated as National Route 68 (N68), a national primary route of the Philippine highway network system.
Andaya Highway was first built in 1976 because of Presidential Decree 774, by former president Ferdinand Marcos. The plan is that to connect the town of Del Gallego, native Ragay (southwestern Ragay), and Ragay port all in Camarines Sur, to the Maharlika Highway. It would start in Maharlika Highway, to Tagkawayan, Quezon, and Del Gallego, Camarines Sur, and end at the port of Ragay. It was called President Quirino Highway when it first opened last 1984. It was closed for extension to Sipocot, Camarines Sur last 1992. It was opened again last 2003 and was renamed Congressman Rolando Andaya Senior Highway to honor the late Congressman Rolando Andaya. It was efficiently used as a major highway since 2004, up till now. It is the shortest way to reach Naga, and the rest of Camarines Sur instead of using the longer Maharlika Highway that would still pass Camarines Norte.
