The Wait, also stylised as the W8, is the post punk revival band Phase's sophomore album, produced by the band itself. It was released on Record Store Day, April 19, 2014.
All tracks written by Phase.
The album was released as a digital download on April 19, 2014.
The album's front cover, was designed by the respected in the field of commerce artist, Alexis Marcou and unlike everything else the band has released, it does not include the band logo or title on the immediate cover. The main aim of the work was to surprise the viewers by presenting them something that they wouldn't have much of a reference point for, securing that way a strong shock value, something that the artist himself calls 'orphan' style.
The cover features a W-shaped Rorschach test formation that has a lemniscate right below it.
The Song was released as a single after on October 10th 2014 after it was aired on Tom Robinson's radio show on BBC and a mixtape on his Fresh on the Net website. It was also remixed several times having one of the mixes 'Point of You, Too' aired on BBC as well.
Amethyst, that was released as a single prior to the album's release, was #1 rising track on last.fm's charts for Greece upon its release.
Remnants (of a Former Worry) out of the album, was selected to participate in the world's first e-novel with music that features art by Bill Sienkiewicz.
